Finding Property Records by City in Alaska
Cities in Alaska do not maintain their own property deed recording systems. All document recording runs through the Alaska Department of Natural Resources Recorder's Office regardless of which city a property sits in. The DNR serves 34 recording districts from offices in Anchorage at (907) 269-8876 and Fairbanks at (907) 452-3521. You can search recorded documents online at dnr.alaska.gov/landrecords or visit either office in person.
For property tax and valuation records, contact the assessing department in the borough where the city is located. For example, Anchorage properties use the Municipality of Anchorage Property Appraisal Division. Fairbanks and surrounding communities use the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assessing Department. Cities in the Kenai Peninsula area use the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assessing Department at 144 North Binkley Street, Soldotna, AK 99669, phone (907) 714-2230.
